THEY ARE so TAME. THE REASON WHY THEY LATCH ONTIO PEOPLE IS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO GO HOME WITH THEM! PEOPLE ARE GOING TO FEEL REALLY STEWPUD FOR BELIEVING THAT THE BEST PLACE FOR ORANGUTANS IS IN THE WILKD WHERE THEY DIE IN THEIR 30S. IN ZOOS AND AS PETS THEY LIVE WELL INTO THEIR 70s!!!!! They are not endangered either. Orangutans in thousands of zoos world and hundreds of sanctuaries go uncounted. If they counted them they would have to take them off of the fraudulent endangered species list. Then a tiny group of people would lose their monopoly over them.
What a great video and best place on the planet. My brother and me went here in 2002. We were in a bar in Labuan Bajo (another cool place). Behind the bar was a note quoting private island. We had to go. We probably stayed in the same hut. There used to be goats that could walk up that crooked tree trunk. There was a jetty 300 meters out on the sea. When snorkelling to it we were nearly dragged out with the currents. Poisonous Lion fish surrounded the jetty. What a brilliant adventure as I can see, you had the same. Just seen a new video and there appears to be a 5 star hotel over the hill. How things change.
I love orangutans but when they get that big they can be scary without even really trying. I've seen too many of these videos where orangutans are way too habituated to the presence of tourists and guides who use fruit to bribe them into these unhealthy cycles of interaction. I wouldn't be getting my hands anywhere near one of that size.
This is what happens when people go into their domain for tours. The animals cannot remain wild and revert back to wanting a free handout from the idiots that venture in there. They might have had good intentions in making some money to help support the sanctuary program but this is definitely not the way. People are going to get hurt and the animals are going to end up like what you see at the seaside locations when the seagulls see people on the beach waiting for them to throw food at them.
They are so cute... When I was there two smaller siblings were cuddling and as we stayed longer than the rest of the group they came up to us and stole my dad's sunglasses Haha ;)
